The Department of Energy Science and Technology opens the full direction of energy-environment fusion education based on perspective research and development in the field of new energy materials (such as energy transformation and storage, fuel cells, solar cells, secondary batteries, supercapacitor, etc.), bioenergy (based on biorefinery, etc.), new/renewable energy (such as photoelectrochemical water splitting, hydrogen energy storage/production, etc.), new technology based on waste materials (such as conversion into high-value products, production of rare-metals, etc.), greenhouse gas capture/storage/utilization, and so on. Studies on a number of technologies based on chemical, biochemical, biological transformation, organic-inorganic/bio-materials, reaction/separation, and so on, are executed through continuing technological communications betwee natural science and engineering in nanotechnolgy (NT), biotechnology (IT), chemical systhesis (CT), energy/environment technology (ET), and related Industry 4.0 - information/communication technology (ICT). All the space, equipment, and facilities for high education and powerful research/development are provided with the well-organized infrastructures and networks among the university - governmental organizations - industrial companies/research centers for intimate cooperations.
